Gillian Rajan

Consultant IBS Dietitian

Gillian is a UK registered specialist gastroenterology dietitian with over twenty years experience supporting people with complex digestive conditions, including IBS. She has held senior roles in the NHS and brings extensive clinical expertise and a holistic mindset to her work.

A few years ago Gillian moved into private practice and quickly discovered that she could achieve far greater results for people with IBS outside of standard care approaches. While the NHS provided invaluable experience, time constraints and service pressures often limited what was possible. She saw many clients left stranded with uncontrolled symptoms after years of restrictive diets, brief consultations and no way forward.

With the freedom to spend more time with each client, Gillian started to use a more holistic, evidence-based and personalised approach that went beyond simple food elimination. As she saw clients benefit from tailored nutrition plans, she also recognised the crucial role of other lifestyle measures in achieving lasting gut health. This insight led her to explore additional evidence-based therapies, and she is now undertaking a postgraduate qualification in clinical hypnotherapy with the aim of integrating gut-directed hypnotherapy into her practice.

Gillian holds accreditation in the low FODMAP diet from King’s College London and has also completed postgraduate training as a supplementary prescriber, highlighting her advanced clinical expertise and commitment to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care.

With over two decades of experience, Gillian applies her integrative approach in “The Take Control IBS Programme”, helping clients uncover their individual triggers and expertly guiding them toward sustained symptom control.
