I decided to join the VIP programme with Kirsten. I have been suffering with IBS since my teens and I am almost 30. I was at the point where I was going to bed in the middle of the day due to bad stomachs, exhaustion and pain. I finally decided to get on the right track and contacted Kirsten.
The last few months have been an eye opener for me. I started with the low fodmap diet and cut out gluten and lactose. Kirsten created a detailed plan for me and I set out on the diet and kept a detailed food diary.
I have suffered from migraines since my early teens and what Kirsten also discovered is that I actually have a histamine intolerance. We decided to cut out high histamine foods along with the diet I was already following. This was challenging but I found Kirsten extremely supportive and she was always giving me helpful tips and ideas in our weekly email check ins.
I enjoyed keeping a food diary. Not only do I use it now to look back on as a reference but I found it had given me accountability for what I was eating and helped me to understand what my triggers are with fodmaps and histamines.
I now know what foods I can eat and at what quantities. I am able to eat foods which I didn’t eat for quite some time like avocados and garlic and I now know my limits.
I can take away lot from the VIP programme and I have learnt so much from Kirsten. She was extremely supportive and very knowledgeable. My overall health has greatly improved and so has my confidence.
